The San Lorenzo River Urban Wilds Project, administered by the Santa Cruz Critter Club, is citizen science effort cataloging the biodiversity of the levee-bound lower San Lorenzo river, a wildlife corridor through the heart of downtown Santa Cruz, California.

Over the past four years we have collected over 1200 photographic observations from over three dozen contributors, representing 320+ different species and counting.

Contributing to this database, and our knowledge of the flora and fauna of the downtown river, is as simple as joining iNaturalist and using their website or smartphone app to submit your observations to the SLRUW project.
